Susanne Lieu works as the managing director for Ruben Companies, located in New York, New York. When she is not working, Susanne Lieu considers herself an avid fan of the New York Knicks. Another Knicks fan, famous writer and director Spike Lee, is trying to recruit now-retired NBA legend Ray Allen to join the team.
Though Ray Allen last played in the NBA in 2014, playing for the Miami Heat, the 10-time NBA All-Star wants to get back into the game. Many team names have flown around the rumor mill, from the Cavaliers to the Warriors, to the Celtics, whom he used to play for.
“I want to be in a situation where I thought I could help, play a little bit and help where they have good young talent,” Allen told reporters. When asked about the Knicks, Allen responded, “Spike Lee has been trying to recruit me. We’ve been texting.” The two are no strangers, as Allen starred in Lee’s 1998 film He Got Game alongside Denzel Washington.
While it is far from a certainty at this point, Allen’s desire to help a team with good young talent makes the Knicks a solid choice, with players like Kristaps Porzingis, Marshall Plumlee, Willy Hernangomez, and Maurice Ndour.
The NBA legend has also told reporters that if nothing pans out by the start of the upcoming season, he will remain retired.
